Major achievements of Unnati project so far

Project Outputs:

1)    60 villages covered in 2 blocks during a span of 8 months for financial inclusion

2)     Loan of Rs. 549.15 disbursed to 2201 households  covering 278 JLGs  since Dec 2015  to till date 

3)    2796 savings bank account opened

4)     16 Business Correspondent Agents engaged and earning commission of Rs. 5000/- per month (average)

5)     Loan recovery is 100%

6)      570 households covered for livelihood enhancement.

7)      64 MSE (Micro & Small Enterprise) set up under 4 types of agri & allied domains (poultry, vegetable, dairy and fishery)

9)      8 Local Service Providers extending services to community and earning Rs.4000/- (average) per month

10)    500 training sessions organized in groups by LSPs

11)    One producer managed collection center set up in Barkhetri and functioning.

12)     Small income generating activities in agricultural and allied sector taken up by 55% loanee households


      Visible Project impacts

       Households responded positively towards availing credit from our system. 

       RGVN is the most preferred outlet for the purpose


       End use of fund towards creation of sizeable number of productive assets is picking up slowly.


Participation of HHs in attending LSP training programme is found to be encouraging.

80% households willing to pay Local Service Providers for agricultural extension services

Investment of loan by households on non-farm activities is found be encouraging

Dairy emerges to be a promising venture for the rural poor

LSP exposure visit



Two Local Service Providers with accompaniment support of  RGVN staff visited Star Integrated Farm on 11th of April 2017. It is a poultry farm owned and managed by a private entrepreneur-Shri. Deepak Mondal. Farm is located in the outskirts of Guwahati city. There are 2000 birds in the farm. Two LSPs -Elina Yesmin and Muhammad Ali of Barkhetri block participated in the exposure visit. The objective of the visit was to get more practical experience on commercial poultry rearing techniques and to promote similar model in target area for better income generation of farm families.

Exposure Visit to a Poultry Farm

On 30th January Unnati Team consisting of following functionaries visited a Poultry Farm on the outskirt of Guwahati (Sonapur).

      Objective of the visit:

     To interact with the owner of the farm Shri Dilip Mandal, who is a small scale entrepreneur having interest in inputs supply like 22 day old birds of RIR hen and Khaki Campbell duck.


·     To get an idea of quality of birds and its management practices maintained at the farm for the birds both hen & duck which our farmer households may like to procure to continue livelihood with similar business plan.

Match Making Worshop with PAN Seed Company

Two match making workshops were organized in Mukalmua and Aulachowka between farmer groups and PAN Seeds Co., a seed producing company on 19th of Jan 2017. Pan Seeds is one of the leading rice seeds company in Eastern India and over the years the company has emerged as a multi product seed company including wheat and vegetable seeds, with rice breeding and production as its major strength and guiding force. 

The programme was facilitated by Mr. Arindam Pal of RGVN.  During the meeting participants discussed about importance of good quality seeds for better production, different varieties of seeds (vegetables & paddy) produced by Company. Mr. Deep Narayan Bora of PAN seeds gave few technical advice to the interested farmers and also provided details of one of the local dealers for ready supply of the input.
